The Sempervivium family is vast , we grow a few varieties that we consider interesting and colourful. They come in many colours, although they flower most are not grown for these. It is the foliage and the formation of rosettes that are found most attractive. Easy to grow though they prefer a well drained site. They love sun and although they will grow in poor soil, they respond more favourably to a richer soil. They are perfect for sinks and troughs, alpine gardens and screes. They also lend themselves to Mediteranian type of gardens and pots, as they adore the sunshine.
