We had a great few days at Harrogate flower show this past weekend. There were some stunning displays and we even had some sun! We worked hard to get our display up for judging and then admired the rest of displays on show.

It was a big change of display for us at the RHS Cardiff Flower Show, we had a go at educational (not like being at school we hope) with of few fun elements. Lots of useful information for all our customers and the public at the show about Heuchera, Heucherella & Tiarella.

When we arrived we had a lot of setting up to do!

We based our display around the most asked questions and to help demonstrate all the answers we have given over the years

We hope this means everyone will be able to grow great Heuchera Heucherella & Tiarella they are incredibly easy really.

We had canvases made for the show and were really pleased at how they came out.

We were judged in a different category than normal…we put together the educational display to achieve a Lindley medal which was bit scary and unknown territory!! We were very proud and surprised to find out that we had gotten a Gold medal in the Floral Marquee awards. Not bad for our first go!

Thanks to everyone who came out, stopped by our display, and said hi at the event.

Podophyllum ‘Spotty Dotty’

In the spring, as Podophyllum ‘Spotty Dotty’ grows the leaves push up through the soil like closed umbrellas and open out as they emerge. Green base with brown-red spotted marking through to autumn. Bright crimson-red flowers are star shaped and hang beneath the leaves. Shop Podophyllum ‘Spotty Dotty’ here.

Open Weekend, it’s this weekend, the details…

Don’t forget our open weekend this Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8th, 9th & 10th of April 2016
Opens at 10am and closes at 4pm.

Loads of plants to buy on our ‘working’ nursery. Many Heuchera. Heucherella and Tiarella plus lots of Perennials like epimediums, kniphofia, tellemas etc.

Come, look around the nursery and our private. not so pristine garden lol, and the National Collection is open and half way through its spring spruce up.

Have a coffee/tea and delicious homemade cake (the profits go to Plant Heritage and Perennial) and see our medals from the shows. Have a read whilst having you coffee, lots of gardening magazine and books to look through in a comfortable warm room (if you need a warm up).

Richard and I will be there to help with your gardening questions
We’re undercover and outside so it will be OK rain or shine 🌞🌈 no problem
