Do you sell in smaller pots ?

This question was asked by
Jane W

hi Just want to say that we planted tiarella Sky Rocket last autumn and they’ve barely stopped flowering since January,

All visitors comment on how lovely they are as they are right beside a shady front door area.

Are plants available in smaller sizes for squeezing into small planting areas?

many thanks

Hi Jane
We don’t have many plants in smaller pots
Most are in 1 litres occasionally we do sell plants in 9cm (generally when we don’t have time to pot them on)
You can find that info in the plant details of each variety they are usually (not always) a £1.00 cheaper so £6.00 plants would be £5.00
Thanks for asking the question
Kind regards Vicky

When do you replenish your stock?

When do you replenish your stock

Hi Sue
We replenish all the time as fast as we can
We are only a two man band (husband and wife team)
We grow all we sell!
We don’t buy in plants as most nurseries these day do
So when we’ve sold out we dont get any more until they have grown again.
Some plants as it says on the web we only grow if there’s enough demand (ie customer put their email to be told when back in stock)
When there’s enough demand we might grow 100 of that particular variety .!
Then when they have gone … they have gone! We don’t have endless supplies.
Stock is replenished all the time, however common sense is applied as there are over 500 varieties which we don’t want ready now, as come November many people will stop gardening
If you see a plant or two you want best to buy it when it’s there.
Even high street stores don’t carry every line all the time
Hope this helps
Kind regards Vicky

RHS Malvern Autumn Show 2017

We’ve finished with our last show of the season, RHS Malvern Autumn show, and now it’s all planning what to do for next years shows!

As you can see from our first couple of photos, we always have quite a lot to put into our display, we grow our plants bigger than normal sometimes, and make sure to bring plenty of moss and dirt to make everything look really clean. We also try to add interesting elements like our wooden pieces shown.

Happily we took home a gold, completing another golden year!

Tiarella Raspberry Sunday

Heuchera champagne

Heuchera Forever Purple

Just because the shows are over doesn’t mean we are done! There’s still lots of work to do around the nursery, potting, packing orders and figuring out which plant combinations to use for next years shows. This weekend we have our open days as well! We look forward to seeing anyone who is coming out.

Harrogate Autumn Flower Show 2017

The Harrogate Autumn flower show was just as spectacular as we knew it would be, with lots of magnificent colours all over the show grounds. An added excitement for us was that we got a new bit of silver to add to our collection with ‘best in show’! As you can see below we were quite happy with this result. I know we’ve said it before, but it’s truly a great thing to have your hard work recognised!

Here’s a few photos of our own set up as well as some from around the show grounds.

Giving a chat about ourselves and the show on BBC radio, and below all the lovely people who came to hear my talk about gardening tips. It’s great to see so many smiling enthusiastic gardeners!

Of course it wouldn’t be Harrogate Autumn show without some giant veg! I know how difficult it is to grow plants nice and big and healthy, so can only imagine the care that goes into growing such massive and stunning vegetables. It’s always such fun to see.

Our last show of the season is this week, September 23rd at Malvern, and then it’s our open days September 29th-October 1st. Then it’s all about looking after our plants in the nursery and planning what to do all over again for next years shows. A gardeners work is never done!
