Hi Ken

We do have an appointment system online

Also we have an open day on
The 17th June here are still some places to book for the morning.
We take booking as the parking can get really bad we limit spaces.
This has coffee and cake too
When you book this, you pay £5.00 but that’s refundable again any purchases

Here the link

Our telephone number is 01270 820335 often we dont asnwer the phone as it doesnt work on the nursery ..
You can leave a message if you would like.
We can take a few days to get back to you though due to show commitments.

We’re are only a husband and wife team no staff to pick up calls sadly

Hope this helps

Evergreen plants

This question was asked by
Elissa B

I’m interested in Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella’s but I’m having problems figuring out which ones are ever green suited for SHADE / Semi shade. if you could steer me in the right direction I’d appreciate it. I have ticked the search facility that says ever green but then in the plant write up it doesn’t say its evergreen. Thank you. Kind regards Elissa

Hi Elissa

All Heuchera,  Heucherella and Tiarella are evergreen and can go in part shade.

Light colour leaves and Tiarella are best for the shade.

Hope that helps

Heuchera – planting time

This question was asked by
Gail H

Hi, I’m hoping to place an order shortly (when I decide exactly what I want!), can I plant them out as soon as I get them or do I need to wait for warmer weather?
Many thanks,

Hi Gail

We start shipping in March and continue through to end November.

You should be able to plant them out straight away.

Obviously, don’t plant if we’ve got snow and ice, but I doubt you would want to be in the garden in that sort of weather!

If I ever think anything is not right to plant straight away (when im packing the plants )
I usually add a note that says keep in pot for a couple more weeks.
That’s not very often, though.

So hope that helps

Late winter care for my plants.

This question was asked by
Morene G

Thank you for my recent delivery. They all look lovely but my plants already in the garden look very sad. What can I do at this time of year to cheer them up ?

Hi Morene
Thanks for the feed back pleased your a happy customer 😀
The ones in the garden, check they are not too wet, they don’t like being too wet.
Otherwise wait until they wake up. (When they start with new growth in the middle.)
Once the cold has gone, tidy the tatty leaves and give them a feed in late march  beginning of April.
We will have the Heuchera feed in soon.
Hope that helps

Are you on the news letter?
I will be telling you all about this soon, on the news letter

How to plant Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella

This question was asked by

Please advise how and what soil to plant it in ?

Hi Carly

You can plant heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella in a container or the ground.

It doesn’t in accid or alkaline soil

Plant at the same level as the plant we send deeper

Use any kind of multi purpose compost

If planting in open ground
Make sure it well drained as they dislike being water logged.
They don’t mind rain as long as it drains away

Follow the instructions from website or on label for sun or shade location.

As a general rule
Tiarella & Heucherella, and heuchera with light or pale colour foliage
(Such as lime green, etc )prefer shade/part shade

Some can go in full sun
These tend to be heuchera with stronger coloured foliage
Such a
Red, purple, black, and some oranges

Hope this helps
